The cold start rattle actually doesn't have anything to do with "cold start". If you mention it to the dealer they do have a fix for it so it wont' happen again.

10 months, 11000 miles, no mechanical problems, daily driven.. Bluetooth a little sketchy with my new Blackberry Tour thats all

No problems here!!!

I have had my JCW since Oct 2008 and now have 4,855 trouble free mile.
NO RATTLES,
29 to 34 mpg average,(mostly city driving),
No problems at all.

Update:

I'm now at 13,500 miles and have had the car since October 2008.

(1) The "Cold Start" rattle (which has nothing to do with being cold)... FIXED.
(2) Door Pulls that sound like shattered plastic when you pull on them... Going in Monday
(3) Rear Latch that shakes ... Going in Monday

Funny thing is, even with these issues I still really love the car.

well I just finished my first tank and although there's a slight buzz in the rear seat area somewhere I've had no other issues (sunroof didn't open for the MA but it has for me every day since).

I averaged 33.5 mpg in mixed driving...not bad :D

around 8,000 miles and no problems. Track time and all, It went in for the timing chain tensioner update and that is it!

Just over 7,000 miles and no problems.

Brakes squeak slightly when warm, but not bad enough to take it in.
