Not sure when to buy

Not sure when I am going to jump in and make the purchase. Just wondering if anyone saw this from Motoringfile and can shed some light.

"MF Analysis: It’s both a sign of the times and a sign that MINI missed the mark with the specifications on the JCW. The fact that they are willing to blow out the JCWs at 2.9% for 60 months is a very obvious admission that something isn’t quite right with the specification vs the price. We expect to see some sort of specification updates to the JCW later this year."

I think the specs mini may have missed out in the JCW's is the interior, lack of gauges with real life funtion or something to set the inside apart from other mini's. I want someone to get in and be wowed, not happening yet.

I am in the same boat as you. If you buy now, be sure to get as much discount as you can and try to take advantage of the good financing. I've been offered anywhere from $0 to over $3500 discount on a brand new JCW.

MINI will probably add substance to the JCW models soon, but the price may increase too (slightly) and the good deals may disappear.

I don't agree with the statement that Mini missed the mark on the JCW and the 2.9% financing is an admission to this. If you look across the board, the auto industry and economy are struggling. Every manufacturer's sales are down and they are having to compete in this environment. The base and S, have low interest rate financing also along with numerous other cars.

I think too many people read articles and try to buy cars based on other people's opinions. Only you can decide if it is worth it or if an S or even base Cooper is a better deal/value.

At the end of the day, it is your car and you'll either love it or not. Based on your last sentence, I am not sure if you don't like it or if you feel you others won't be impressed. I don't drive cars for others to be wowed. I drive cars that I enjoy driving. Some of my friends think I am nuts for driving a Mini and make fun of my tiny girlie car. It doesn't bother me. It's really a whole lot of fun to drive.

If you want any new car and can afford it, it is a great time to buy. My crystal ball has been defective lately and not sure what the future will bring, but deals are out there and it is a buyer's market. you can definitely negotiate from invoice on these cars, versus paying MSRP like a lot of us did.

I personally think it is a great car and so much fun to drive. Then again, I think the S and the Cooper are fun to drive also.

Best of luck with your decision.

I ordered mine and it arrived 8 Apr. Got the 2.9% financing. I also got $2000 off, even though I ordered it. I'd say now is a really good time.

I now find myself in the same boat. I would love for the 2010 JCW to have the JCW suspension.

Where are you guys finding these great discounts on the JCW? I need to contact them.

BTW, I really like Horizon Blue, especially with a black roof and mirrors.
