First JCW mod

OK, so it's not a big Modification . When looking at JCWs before ordering, I liked the "blacked" out look on the chrome around the grill. Unfortunately it's only available on with the JCW aero kit which I didn't care for (Not to mention the 1200+ price tag). So while in the dealer today, I had them look up the parts to see if available separately, not only were they available, he had them in stock! So after walking out of the dealer $72 poorer, I immediately came home and had to install them. It took about 30 minutes (now I could probably do it in 10). On a scale of 1-10 this was probably a 1, but I really like the look. Here are some before and after pics.

Yea, that's what makes the Mini so fun, lots of options to customize, both factory and after market, all personal preference. With my color choices, to me the front grill just screamed for black chrome

Looks good! My JCW is not due for another 3 weeks and I've already ordered the same part.

Definitely.

Regarding the install, I suppose you could probably switch back if you wanted, right?

Yep, Just a couple of phillips screws and some clips on the top piece and just clips on the bottom (snap out the grill and then snap off the chrome), easy install only needed a phillips and straight blade screwdriver... I'm beginning to think this whole car just snaps together like legos

I agree, it's almost scary how much of the car just snaps together. My first mod was the JCW skifter ****. I had more trouble removing the shifter boot than anything. The **** itself popped right off, but I had to remove the whole center console to be able to get enough room and force on the darn tabs for the shifter boot to get it out. Next I will be installing the JCW front aero bumper onto my Clubman. It's at the paint shop now.

How much did the paint shop say the painting is going to cost? I am considering the JCW front fascia (cant quite afford the entire JCW aero), and would like to get a couple of figures.

Nice choice on the JCW grille trim!! It is actually quite readily available, I got mine at outmotoring.com.

Yea, I'm kinda back and forth on that. Although I do like yours. Wife thinks it will look to "sinister" with all black, she still needs SOME "cuteness"
