Based on the JCW factory installed rim this one would be a decent winter tire choice http://highperformancetire.com/produ...1&cat=0&page=1

purchasing rims and tire pressure sensors (approved rims

Excellent, thanks!

For those interested I recently purchased the Kazera KZ-D and it fits over the factory JCW brakes just fine.

215-45R17

Has anyone put 215-45 R17's, or a different size, for winter on the original rims? They are substantially cheaper because there are lots more options to choose from. Also a bit higher, which would be nice for winter.

I put Bridgestone Potenza 960AS 215/45/17 all season tires on my Challenge rims a few weeks ago.

Excellent!
I will go buy them now. Thanks!!!

Now that I think about it I was wrong. I need higher sidewall (profile), not wider. I guess it would be better to stick with 205 and then increase to 50 to make the tire a bit wider. Now I am really confused
Anyone try 205/50/17's for winter?
I want to buy the Michelin Xi2 but they don't have them in 205/45/17
Thanks

Thanx for the link. I just put a full package together but as it came in close to $2k, and I have some question of whether "fit" was confirmed through actually mounting the rims, I decided I'd use the Jeep at least this winter.

If any of you went through the process of selecting rims they say "fit" and saw how large it is, does anyone else have some skepticisms that they actually tried them to confirm backspacing is enough on all the rims not to interfere with the brakes???
