I juat bought an '09 JCW with 8,400 miles on it. Our autocross club had its annual dyno day today, so I decided to check it out. Best pull was 208 hp and 217 ft/lbs of torque. Dyno was a Dynojet. Pretty impressive for a stock car.

If I were you, I wouldn't modify anything with those kind of numbers except for a tune from RMW.

Pretty impressive for a stock car.

Thanks for the tip. I am new to Minis. Just got one here in Germany. I had been a Big Ford guy owning a Galaxie and an F100, still like them but not too many around here. Having a total love affair with the JCW. I am open to suggestions to get more sound and power. What pipe swap to you suggest and maybe some other weekend projects? many Thanks

Love the all black combo . I've been to VMP for autocross events, but haven't been over to RIR (other than for IRL races). Will definitely try and make it on the 21st.

Very nice car!! I have the topless version myself. I just hit 400 miles last night taking my friend and her 5yo daughter home to brooklyn. Going over the brooklyn bridge with top down was magical .

Dyno Pull
HI there, those numbers are very nice. Maybe some of these, ACTUAL numbers will shut up those that all that they can talk about is what a rip off a JCW is, and that the horsepower isn't all that great. Do the slippage percentage of about 12% and those numbers are really great. Probably in the 230 range. Anyway, nice.

Hmm, If I read my charts right 213 is the calculated power at crank, attached is the chart for the power at wheels( hub in this case)
190,5hp at wheels, and 12% loss is 213 at crank
But its still more than 211hp that´s the official numbers for the JCW in Europe

Do you have a graph of the RMW tune to compare it to?

Thanks.... you and I both.

I'll have it up and running in the next week or two. I think unfortunately I'm putting it back to stock and going to buy a 2010 Chili Red JCW. Then I'll start all over.

Mark

PS. And speaking of that... can I load your tune on another car once I remove it off mine or is it VIN specific?

VIN specific but Dimsport says you can reset it by paying a fee to them

I HAVE NEVER CLAIMED TO HAVE A RMW TUNE. In fact in most of my posts where I mention my tune I specifically state it was not a jan tune.

This is getting old. You wanna compare my dyno to a RMW tune - there are plenty RMW tuned dynos in this thread and others around.
Let the posted charts talk.

Want to compare my new tuen to my dimsport tune? :https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...78-post49.html

Notice what the second sentence in that post says. Also note that post has never been edited.

I did get teh tune tweaked after that dyno run, but never dynoed it again until I put the alta tune on.
