09 JCW "Stumble" ???

Was curious if anyone has experienced a "stumble"? I've had 03 and 06 S's (S'ees?) and at first I thought what I'm experiencing is just me getting used to the turbo motor, but I don't think so.

Coming down my parking garage or other very light, light accelleration without the Sport on, I get a hesitation. It happened again this morning pulling out of Fourbucks - doesn't matter the warmth of the car, the air temp outside (so far) or anything else external that I can figure out. It gives that same hesitation like the 03's suffered with the stumble or it's the same type of thing when the DSC kicks in. I'm going in a straight line and not spinning the wheels, so I know it's not that either.

It doesn't act that way with the Sport on. I know I know, just drive with the Sport on. I do. Still, curious if anyone else was seeing the same?

Does it feel like a buck-bobble kind of thing like it does when someone doesn't know how to drive a stick? Makes you want to dive for the clutch?
If it's what I'm thinking... my MCS does it too - below 7mph in 1st and 10mph in 2nd. It's just a poor electronic throttle calibration - it doesn't know what to do.

Ditto for me on this. Seems like each one I've owned has had something. My 2003 MCS didn't have the stumble until I insisted on a software upgrade that I didn't need which introduced the problem. My 2005 was better and my 2007 was best of all. This one gives me that slight hesitation unless I rev up the RPMs a bit before taking off. Once in 2nd, I don't get the issue anymore. The cars a blast, so I'll see what it's like after the break in period.

I experienced this the other day. Going us a slight ramp into a parking garage the at the Hoover Dam. Was moving slow in traffic when all of a sudden the car seemed to bog down like I was in the wrong gear. Car actually stalled. I confirmed that I was in 1st gear and restarted, car started to stall again when I slipped the clutch and wound up the RPM's.

Interesting quirk, issue that MINI needs to work on.

I seem to get it when the car is cold. Leaving work and carefully going up the incline in first, and leaving from the house in the morning. I wonder if it is because the engine is cold and there is no exhaust in the turbo yet?
