This is my factory JCW. Picked it up three weeks ago. Love the pop burble, burble, burble, pop!
It's fast and civilized for every day driving - although I don't . It's garaged primarily.
Oh no, what's wrong. Looks like you have a new valve cover on it already?
Fairly new. It's getting a new seal gaskets. Turbo swallowed the rubber seal. So I'm doing a bit of tweeking. New high performance intercooler, sent my turbo to be rebuilt and upgraded, will delete noisemaker and resonator, polished exhaust manifold and misc items. Currently cleaning both intake and exhaust ports. Trying to figure out how to give the intake and throttle a quick clean.

Yes, much better. On the intake and throttle bottle you can clean it with some intake cleaner and a rag. Just be careful around the throttle body connection to pivot point on the butterfly valve as you dont want the cleaner to get into the electronics and not dry.
Thanks Mike! I blackened my JCW. No chrome. Scuttle, belt line, head and tail trim. Black.
No mod stripes. Sick of seeing every Mini on the planet with those mod stripes. Viper stripes. Wide hood stripes. Stripes that reverse on the roof back to the hood and boot lid. lol So after my accident, I did "****** the stripes" And since the car is reg in Texas you can get away with dark tinted windows on the sides. Without tinted windows the Minis look hollow. Only thing I wish I had was the Aero side trim. Is that worth 4 bills? maybe . . .
I'm keeping the car OEM as there are only 50 of them in the US. So, no window tint. I think rare cars should be kept original from the factory. The driving lights are oem and original on the WC50. There is no plate as I do not want to drill holes in the bumper. I will be buying a frame to mount in the tow hook receptacle. I carry the front plate in the car and as long as it's in the front window then it's legal here.

Just a paint & trim package. Still a JCW. Doesn't seem very rare. Doubt you can cash in on that. Marketing gimmick. I'd still tint those windows, but that's me. Lucky Idaho isn't Texas or Cali. I carried a front plate on the driver seat and still got pulled over from the DPS in Texas. They relish any opportunity to pull you over.
Any issues with the timing chain, fuel pump, thermostat, valve cover, clutch on that N14? How many miles?
Fifty within the country seems pretty rare to me. How many have you seen? What is the reference to Idaho? This is a 2010 with only 15,000 miles and was in the dealership owners personal collection with his McLarens, Porsches and Lambo's. Very well maintained and sought after by people who are MINI enthusiasts.

I'll take the McLaren, Porsche or Lambo over the JCW. hahaha sorry. I love my JCW but it's a poor man's sports car. No comparison. Yeah. I've been in automotive advertising & marketing. That 50 stuff is just hype. They didn't do much to the car but change up the trim package. Nothing wrong with it. Looks good. It's a good promo. But you won't get more than 500 bucks added for it if you sell it. Probably only worth about 11-12 grand at best.
15K in 7 years??? What are you babying it for? 30k is where you hit the jackpot of repairs. timing chain, thermostat are automatic replacements. I would cash out now before the big repairs hit. I took all of mine but they were insured and BMW covered the chain free. You may be out of the time period for that.
Nice convertible!
Works in automotive advertising and marketing, owns a JCW, yet calls the coupe a convertible..classic
