Post pics of your Factory JCW MINI

The factory turbo is being held back by the ECU tuning, it is capable of producing more boost than the engine internals can handle if left uncontrolled. If you just slap a bigger turbo on, the ECU with just open up the wastegate to limit the boost again so the only thing you will "Gain" is more turbo lag.
Trust me on this as I currently have a bigger turbo on mine and ended up with less horsepower overall not more. It's cheaper and much more productive to get a good ECU tune using the existing unit.

The tune in itself can provide as much boost as the engine internals can handle, so swapping out your turbo, unless it's already blown anyway, is pointless.
This is the one I got:
http://www.jmturbocoopers.com/JMTC-S...0-3-Turbo.html
but like I said, the car ended up with less horsepower than it had with the JCW Turbo.

Thanks Steven. Now I just need new clutch (OS Giken) to finish up. Suspension haven't been done just because of the bad asphalt we have here... Still contemplating on slapping some coils when this becomes my weekend ride but for now is my DD. The best mode by far was the Evolve custom tune, it really opened up the car.

I'm on the Koni Yellows and they are a great upgrade. My Roadster is my DD as well. You might even consider getting the coilovers from the new GP2...the factory has most likely tuned those to perfection.

I've heard nothing but great reviews on the Evolve tune. How many km/mi. do you have on your tune? Do you retain the sport button function?
