You need to put the image address in the IMG tag, not the page link, like this:

Yeah that's what I tried to do, fortunately it doesn't work like that on the iPad.

New 2012 JCW

Hi All! I picked up my new baby on Saturday from Mini of Portland (Oregon) after an 8-week wait. I'm extremely happy with my choices and he's so fun to drive! Hopefully the uploaded pictures will work. Appears I can only do 3 at a time, so I'll post a few more with more details of the JCW rear spoiler.

thornphoenix,
You obviously have great taste for your color combination. I absolutely love my 2011 EG/CR JCW. I really like the way your stripe continues down onto the bumpers. I have to hook up with the guy that does the stripes for Flow MINI to get him to extend my stripes on the front and add the same thing on the boot. I've talked to him, and he's willing, but Flow is on the opposite side of town for me and getting there on the one day of the week he's at the dealership is tough.

Personally, I'm not sure I like the fancy rear spoiler, but it may be because I'm so used to looking at my red spoiler.

Anyways, congrats on a very nice car. I'm sure you'll enjoy it very much.

Rear Spoiler

Tigger,
Thanks for the comments! It took me weeks to settle on the JCW spoiler and I'm happy with it; I think it looks nicer in person than in photos. The carbon fiber (CF) in the spoiler ties in nicely with the CF rear handle & bonnet scoop. One interesting thing...when the car arrived at the dealer from the port the spoiler of the base was still black and I had asked them to paint it chili red to blend with the rest of the roof, however my MA sent me pictures and wanted to know if I still wanted it painted. After seeing how the black (standard) spoiler base blended in with the tinted windows and the window bars I decided to save $300 and keep the spoiler base black. I'm glad I did - gives a bit of a contrast.

It just occurred to me....(doh!)...I probably should have asked my MA to give me the original mfg spoiler since they replaced it at the Port with the JCW spoiler so I presume it must've originally had one when it left England. I suspect the port probably just kept the original spoiler w/o sending it to the dealer...hmmm!

BTW, I would definitely recommend the stripes down the bumper - I don't see that often around here so it makes it unique, plus I just think it looks cool.

Oh sweet. Did you ask the dealer to do it for you?

Yes, I chose that I wanted the tint, clear mask, etc., so it was all done when I took delivery

About the spoiler... the most important thing is that you like it and are happy with your choice. I wish I could see it in person, but you are diagonally across the country from me. It might be worthwhile checking to see if you can still retrieve the stock spoiler, but I'm not sure what you would do with it. I doubt you could simply revert your car back to the stock spoiler because I'm sure they had to drill additional holes to mount the new one.

About the stripe... my son and I first noticed stripes continued onto the bumper on several MINIs at the first driving event we attended with the local MINI club. I really like the look. It's just a matter of making the effort to hook up with the guy who put the original stripes on at the dealership so he can match his work.

Looking good. Did you apply any protectant on the plastic wheel arches?

Here is one that isn't parked:
Poll // Photo Contest // July 2012 "WAVE"

Couldn't anyone enter in this month's contest? I know JCW dominates all MINIs, but this is ridiculous!

Thanks InVisib0L. No I have not applied any wheel arch protectant, but I may need to look into that... the car is sitting pretty wide and low

Hi SuperGreg!

I found the look I wanted on minimotoringgraphics.com (go to the gallery once you're at the website and I think page two...look for the white silver mini with the same stripes I have). I told my MA at Mini of Portland that I wanted those stripes and she took care of getting them installed when the car arrived at the dealer. They use a local vendor (not sure the name) who applied both the stripes and the clear mask. Apparently the stripes were a PITA to apply since each color is a different stripe (1/4" black, 1/4" red, 5 1/4" black, 1/4" red, and 1/4" black with a space of eclipse gray and then the stripes start over again with 1/4" black, 1/4" red, etc). I love them!!
