Rear Seat Headrests?

Given that no one will EVER sit back there, is there any reason to not remove them? Seems like rearward visibility would be somewhat improved without them. Thanks.

I would just remove the stopper, and adjust them all the way down.

In fact, that's what I did in my R55 Clubman. Then, in the off chance that someone NEEDS to sit back there, they just have to adjust the headrest up, and good to go.

I second that. That's exactly what I did on my R56 when I had it. Visibility was improved greatly and I head rests were still there in case they are needed.

I completely removed mine… no screws involved. My rearward visibility improved significantly.

Yep its a screws that was placed their for USA cars to keep them from going all the way down on the R57 Gen 2 and F57 Gen 3 models. I guess for whiplash or some crash safety standard. The R52 Gen 1 MINI had them stationary and they were always at head level.

Euro MINIs F57 , all the way down:

USA MINIs at the 2017 F57 MINI Convertible release.

I removed my rear seat headrests (stored them in a box in my garage), because no one rides in the back, and removing them gave a bit more ease and space when storing things in back. No regrets after 18 months.
