New here and new to me 2023 Cooper S conv. My Mini does not have the upgraded HK sound and I would like to upgrade. Has anyone installed donor HK amp and speakers to the base head unit? I believe new A pillars would be needed to accommodate the additional tweets. Does the upgraded HK SYSTEM just add amp and tweets, or are the mids and subs also upgraded? Is it plug and play or beed dealer programing? I am sure there is a wiring harness or 2 needed? Your knowledge will be much apprec!

 

Welcome! Its a bunch of work to do it. The F57 just has a different program set up for the sound. Most info is pre 2022 cars that are pre LCI and F56 models. The headunit updated in 2022+

All I've gotten there is a GPS data update, so I have no opinion on this offering.

 

Yeah, I legit bought the iconic package just because of the HK system...little did I know, you could actually option in on a non-iconic car. Either way, it's a solid decent system but not a GREAT one. I actually think you'd be better off going aftermarket with Coaxials
