F56 and the iPhone 6 / iOS 8

Got my lovely new F56, and a lovely new iPhone 6, but... trying to reach some integration harmony with the two...

1) Got any suggestions for iPhone 6 phone holder? There is the centre arm rest, but that hides the phone, I like using Waze or Google Maps so want it front and centre.

2) Using bluetooth is really hit and miss. If I use Google Maps for nav, the voice directions come over as a phone call on the bluetooth, lag so I miss half of the direction and then interrupt music for ages after until the "phone call" cuts off. Same via USB too.

Anyone else reached harmony with the two? Wondering if I just go with aux line-in and run cables...

I don't know about the fit (yet), but I know that many here have been using the iPhone mount from Cravenspeed (mounted behind the instrument cluster), and love it.

http://www.cravenspeed.com/products/...nting-Kit.html

The link above states that an iPhone 6 will fit. If you have a 6 plus, you'll need an additional bit.

I've run my cable between the seams of the panels in the dash to have it out of the way. and it works like charm.

This thread is all about the mount.

Does the 6 fit inside the armrest? I was under the impression that only the 5 & 5S did, though I'm not sure why I thought that in retrospect.

Yeah it will sit in there. I haven't connected it up with any cables or anything. Doubt 6+ would...

Thank you very much. I've been an Android guy for years but I'm debating switching teams in the near future. From what I've read it sounds like iOS works better than Android which is definitely playing a part in the switch.

Is the Cravenspeed holder easy to fit though, or a big job?

Compared to other mods, the cravenspeed holder is dead simple to fit. Check out the thread links in my post earlier in this thread where I outline some idiosyncrasies I had.

Good luck!

I think now they don't seem to do a mount for right hand drive vehicles.

Shame.

Have you seen the Brodit options? I'm trying to figure them out, not blindingly obvious to me what exactly I need though!

Why not the MINI Click & Drive? Does that come in right-hand drive? If you don't get the cradle, you can use a cradle that works with a Garmin ball.

it looks like both right and left hand drives use the same instrument cluster. Do you need the iPhone on the left?

The click and Drive looks to work for both the LHD and RHD MINI. 65902357445 main unit. Then you will need the attachments for what phone or Navi you use.

The mount looks like it should work with the Garmin ball cradle .

No iPhone 6 mount out yet. But the iPhone 5 mount has the firewire plug. But the IPhone 5 mount itself looks too big for the 6 , and 6+ is super big.

Thanks
