Flash Lights to Lock Stopped Working

Just noticed it this morning. The Flash lights when locking (via Keyfob) stopped working for me. It locked the car fine, but no lights flashed.

I unlocked the car, confirmed I was on my profile, deselected flash lights when locking entry in the Door / entry menu options. Re-selected it. No change. Did it again with the car on. No change.

Then I deselected it. Shut off the car, locked, obviously no flash, then re-selected it, thinking it needed to "register something" in the software, still no light flash when locking.

*snicker* Maybe my MINI heard me complain about no audible beep when locking and decided to spite me.

I'm going to try to see if it continues after work, maybe it was just "one of those things"

I'm adding it to the short list if minor items for the dealer to check out in a couple of weeks.

I'd appreciate any suggestions, or if anyone has had this happen to them?

I wonder if the tailgate is closed, or the gas cap.

just noticed the very same thing with mine this morning! what a coincidence! Although I didn't try everything you tried to get it back working. Will look into it after work. Hope it comes back, because without and audible and no flashing lights now I really don't know if it is indeed locked as I'm walking away from it.

Thanks for the suggestion, hammerhands. Both closed fully.

Keep us posted if yours somehow fixes itself. I'm hoping later today it'll just work.

Nevermind, the hatch was not completely closed. Flashing lights came back shortly after that.

Yeah... When I got back to the car a few moments ago and opened the hatch I saw that a piece of cloth from the blanket was slight in the way of the side of the hatch.

Sorry folks, nothing to see here, move along.

(but the coincidence was indeed uncanny)

Credit where credit is due, hammerhands, you were right. My hatch wasn't closed fully.
