Union Jack Illuminated Door Sills

Has anyone added the option for the Union Jack Illuminated Door Sills? My MA says there is an additional installation fee beyond the price listed on Miniusa site, does that seem correct? I like the looks of them but it does seem like a frivolous option.

Buy them and install them yourself.. They are an accessory so the dealer would have to charge for their time. But you can also do it yourself.

I have the JCW illuminated. I was missing options on my car so they threw them In for free.

Pros:
-they look great when get illuminate
-They use batteries so no wiring involved.

Cons:
-The dealership chipped the sh** out of the plastic around the sill during removal of old sills.
-they use batteries, so they won't last forever and my MA doesn't know how to take them out after they go in.
-mine are already flickering like there is a bad connection.... Not sure if it's the install or just a whack light.

Here they are if anyone is interested. They light up at the logo along with the entry lights. The install was done at port and they did a great job. I really like them & I'm glad I got them.

They are right here: And MINI has had illuminated version since the beginning of Gen 1 MINIs. Those look even better at night. 51472357729 - 51472357727

I love the JCW ones. I read a thread in the mod section that these can be quite difficult to wire up yourself?

It's my understanding that there's no wiring. Just clip it in and it runs off of an integrated battery. I assume there's a spring switch similar to what's on a refrigerator door to trigger the light.

I got the JCW puddle lights that shine down from the bottom of the doors, 2 minute install and they look great, $30 for the pair.

My son wants Batman puddle lights. He picked the color of my car so I guess he can have that too. Haven't seen them for a MINI yet.

Those sills look great! I have the $100 MINI gift thing burning a hole in my pocket, but MINI's stuff is SO expensive. (I know I'm preaching to the choir.)

I'm waiting for some kind of gift thing for the mileage/EPA problem. Maybe then.

Oh really? Maybe I was looking at a different thread. Has anyone done this then and can attest to the difficulty of the mod?

I have a 2015 Mini Cooper S. Can someone please guide me to a link where I can purchase the puddle lights? Are they hard to install, do they work for the 2015's and what options are there? I hear of the JCW ones but I have only seen the ones with the Mini logo. Thanks so much!

I'm pretty sure I got mine from Way Motor Works, but on their website they don't list the JCW ones (which I have). They don't list it for the F56 either. Contact them and ask, they may not have listed it on their website. I did order mine off a website from a link on the Coupe forum I think.
