Axle back muffler install

Anyone have a source for a good website or video on installing an axle back exhaust on an f56s.

I keep seeing things like "easy install just cut and clamp" but where am I cutting?

Any pointers would be very appreciated! 🙂

I helped install a Magnaflow axel back onto a friends F56, and the instructions provided with the muffler tell you exactly where to cut. If you buy a muffler without instructions, you’ll have to come up with all the measurements carefully. I would hope that any reputable exhaust company making axel back mufflers would have detailed instructions available. I would avoid any product that doesn’t have those instructions.

Will changing to a more open axle back muffler affect performance? I have read enough and played with engines enough to know I wont be getting any real extra horsepower but

I spent nearly a year chasing gremlins and at least at the moment the car is purring. At lights I sometimes think the car has stalled out its so smooth and quiet. Idle is amazing and it drives wonderfully.

I wanted to add the muffler for no other reason than to get a little more aggressive note when I get on it but I dont want to sacrifice how wonderfully it is running.

Will I wind up chasing new gremlins if I swap the standard muffler out of my F56S and replace it with say a Borla??

We have this which has the install so you can get an idea of whats done. Our is a full exhaust and cuts near the front. Little to minimal HP gain if any, more of a sound gain with some weight loss. Video linked.

Deleted Muffler 2018 MC S

This is what I did 2 years ago by removing the heavy weight muffler on my 2018 MC S. I think it is somewhat quite inside but does have a louder tone outside. Cost me about $120 to extend the pipe with the twin exit pipes that matched the original tips.
