First time sunroof owner on a '22 Pepper White CooperS 2-Door.

Will I risk sun damage to the interior if I keep the sunroof closed, but the shade open?

If it was hot, I'd either close the shade and run the A/C or open the sunroof, I imagine.

The newer MINIs have the tinted sunroof/panoramic. I have seen on older MINIs the leather on the interior can dry out a bit more. But those older MINIs also have a lighter tint on the sunroof. If you treat the leather every year with a UV protectant leather product you should be fine.

Cloth version seats i dont see that many issues.

I only have a leather steering wheel.
I can't see putting any slippery stuff on that.

 

You might consider one of these shades. I have them and they work great. Cheap too!

 

Zippeshade work also if you want to block out that UV.
