We're talking about professional scan tools that can do things like interactively test specific components and do other sorts of dig-in.

Bimmer-tool is an app for the Android platform. I don't have an Android device so can't speak to it directly, though what I have dug up online doesn't look like it's anything near a tool like a Foxwell/similar. BimmerCode is a coding tool, a Foxwell does not code; a Foxwell is a diag tool, BimmerCode does not diag. BimmerLink will provide limited diagnostic information and allow to tweak a very limited number of things faster and easier than BimmerCode (ASD and exhaust flap control for example), but it is mainly a report-status tool and again limited as compared to a professional scanner.

I use BimmerLink and BimmerCode personally, and found (courtesy of my power steering assist kicking out and the rabbit hole that that went down) it was time to get a Big Boy diagnostic tool -- I am going to be hands-on with this car for as long as I have it, and I have had my other car for over a quarter century. So in my case the Big Boy tool that will allow me to monitor and handle things well before they show up as a warning light or dead functionality is the Foxwell.

There are tools that do more than the Foxwell, but they carry higher price points than I wanted to get into.

I was thinking the same thing but with free shipping and no sales tax from Foxwell directly that was the icing on the cake

Mine is currently in Anchorage, AK. It shows tomorrow for the delivery date, keeping my fingers crossed…

Anyone tried the

Foxwell NT726

or it a sledgehammer to crack a nut for diy services ...?

this would used on both 22 plate F56 for reset brake service warning light, and also r59 2011 to register battery, abs pump brake bleed etc
