Automatic Door Unlock on Engine Stop

Is it possible to have the doors unlock themselves automatically when you turn off the car, like they lock themselves when you drive off?

There’s a function in BimmerCode to automatically unlock on engine stop, but it doesn’t seem to work I’ve activated and deactivated it and it doesn’t change the behavior. The tick box for auto lock on drive off is checked. The all doors unlock is ticked.

when I leave my car in the garage and don’t lock it, if I need something out of the passenger side, it’s always locked because you have to open it from the inside for it to unlock. It drives me crazy. Get out a work, need to get my bag, I have to use the key fob to unlock, or use the comfort access to lock and unlock just to open the passenger door.

anyone have this same issue?

No need for Bimmercode, this is an option in the onboard menu.

Interesting… I don’t have that option in my onboard menu.

That's odd. Both our 3rd gen MINIs have that option. What year/model is your car? The thread title says F55/F56, but the thread titles aren't always reliable.

I have a 2016 Cooper, and do not have this as a customizable option in Settings. The options listed are for locking/unlocking using the remote.

I finally gave up. Even some of the expert command options in bimmercode to do this don't exist on my model for some reason. I just turned off the door lock on drive off, so it doesn't lock to begin with. Makes me nuts having to unlock the car every time I want to open the passenger door.

Bummer. I don't know why your car is missing that option in the menu. In my old R60 Countryman which didn't have that option either, I trained myself to unlock the doors when parking right before I turned the car off. I forgot occasionally, maybe 1 in 40 times, but it was mostly successful.

dredging up an old thread/post.
2016 F55
Option to turn this [lock on drive off] off is NOT in the car menu
It IS in BimmerCode, I've set it, it shows as set, but the behavior happens anyway (the car locks when I drive off)

This is not only annoying, but with two kids in the back seat, I hate that the doors are LOCKED. Kid falls asleep, I go to get them out, LOCKED. it's really annoying.

HELP PLEASE.

I posted this, and then went to the bimmercode WEBSITE (not in the app)

and the toggles are much more verbose. Here's what it says
Lock after pulling away
Enable/disable the “Lock after pulling away“ checkbox in the settings in the iDrive system in the car.
you ENABLE it in Bimmercode to get the toggle WITHIN the display

enabled in Bimmercode - went to setting within iDrive, BOOM it was there. DISABLED the setting in the iDrive system. Feature works as described. DONE
