Oxford delivery…..today

Finally in….I think I ordered this 7 or 8 months ago. It was delivered to my home earlier today. Took a few drives with it…all good. The 17” tires are standard in the Oxford…pleasantly surprised with the non harsh ride. I did specifically request “all season.” Came in with Pirelli Cinturato P7. Drives straight arrow, perfectly balanced. Pleased. Although my Mini does not have the Apple CarPlay feature, I was happy to see that I could Bluetooth in Apple Music using Siri with ease. Didn’t expect the artwork to show up…but it does. And finally, the sound quality is amazingly decent with the non HK unit. So…..so far, this car does everything well…and brings a smile….at a crazily low price. Paid MSRP with no add ons. I’ll report in soon…driving from San Diego to the Desert over the mountain route in a few days.

Congrats! I ordered mine in May and it arrived at the port in Baltimore a couple of weeks ago. My dealer said they were shooting for the car to arrive at my Detroit area dealer Oct 12 -14 and then revised it to the 17th, so I'm cautiously optimistic at this point that it actually arrives then.

Your Island Blue was my second choice for color - I went with Chili Red with black top and wheels - but yours looks great, nonetheless!

Is yours a 2021 or 2022? Mine is one of the first built following the August three-week factory shut down and is a 2022. I'm also curious about your build month which you can usually find on a sticker on the driver's door jam expressed as 99/99 (month/year).

I'm really glad that you're finding the ride to not be harsh and that the base audio system is decent. I feel way better about my decision now, especially since I've never driven one or heard the audio system.

I'm also curious about your purchase experience since like you, I'm paying full MSRP with no discounts. Did they try to hard-sell you extended warranties, maintenance plans, etc? The way I look at it is since I'm paying full price they are making some decent coin on my purchase alone and I really don't want to get hassled for additional stuff that I don't want. The one add-on that I am considering is the wheel/tire insurance as the Detroit area has less than desirable roads.

Thanks, and enjoy your new ride!

Hi Bob….To answer your questions…yes, it’s a 2022. It was built 7/21. As mentioned, there were zero add ons. I mentioned from the start that my deal was hinged on no adds. Hence, there was no push for it from the dealership.

Be sure to adjust the tire pressure as soon as you take delivery. Mine were initially overinflated…and bringing the psi down to 38 psi front; 33 psi rear (per the specs) made a huge difference in the ride…with no noticeable sacrifice in agility. That said, I have noted that these tires are rather noisy….it’s annoying….wondering if it’s a “run flat” thing?

Thanks for the info. If your tires were overinflated then the prep guy/gal at the dealer didn't do his/her job. But at least that's a simple thing to rectify.

I have heard that run-flats can be noisy and I'm still debating whether to swap them out for non-run-flats or just eventually wear them out.

Big question that just came to me: did you end up with a factory installed spare and a jack kit?

Thx!

Hi Bob…..I did not know that having the spare, or not, was a random variable? Maybe I should give a look? Separately, like you, I’m open to the switch to non run flats. However, I’m not sure I want to play with the Pirellis….they are well mated to my car…and I’m fussy. There’s no “out of roundness,” and the Mini drives perfectly centered.

Handles as well (or better) as my primary vehicle, which is a Macan.
I understand the S models don't have a spare because of their center exhaust but the base cars with the 1.5 and left exit single exhaust apparently have the space for a spare. What I'm not sure of is if the run-flats are used on the base cars so that a spare and the jack kit are not needed. Having a spare will make it much easier for me to switch from run-flats to non-run-flats in the future.

My 2022 F56 Oxford came with 17" runflats. No spare. No jack.
I had ordered summer performance tires but it came with all season Optimos and I hated the oversteer. I did not think to check the tire pressures on a brand new car. Anyway I brought in the order sheet to the dealer and they ordered the Pirelli summer rubber. Same size. Scheduled to get the new tires November 5.
Presently running 225/40/18s on 18x7.5(42)s from the F54. fit great. feel great. Look great!

Glad you’re pleased, Tio! It’s a terrific car….unlike anything else. Are you pleased with the standard, non upgraded sound system? I really wanted the HK, tried for it, but was locked in with the standard system if I wanted Oxford. I’m surprisingly pleased with the standard. Is it improved compared to past years? Separately, the Apple Music bluetooths perfectly without CarPlay. There’s a track list… and artwork to boot.

Ha! My other car is an old SAAB which barely receives any radio signal. In comparison this radio is wonderful!

Beautiful color MINI! I have all in on my red vehicles... but if I had to get one that wasn't red that gorgeous Island Blue would be my next top choice... WELCOME to the MINI Family and to a bright future of many motoring adventures! And remember to take lots and lots of pictures to share here!

Yep. Island Blue, black roof & mirrors. Suffering from LBS now, in need of a neck brace. “LBS” = “Look Back Syndrome.” Like…..the most perfect blue. Yum. Every time I walk away from my Mini, I need to “look back.” 🤪😱
