Replace digital instrument cluster with analog?

Per title. I just took delivery of a 2021 iconic trim S (with HUD) that has the digital instrument cluster (speedo and tach) and I'd like to replace it with the analog cluster. Prev model years used the analog cluster with iconic trim, so it would seem to me it's possible. I just posed this question to the dealer parts guy and he didn't want to say one way or the other, so I came here to ask the real experts!

Given it’s possible to go the other way (i.e., swap analog for digital), and the swap is fairly easy, I imagine what you want to do is rather simple overall: swap the clusters, remove the 6WB from the VO and complete the other necessary coding. You’d probably find a buyer for the digital cluster pretty easily, since these are becoming quite popular as a retrofit to older cars (my 2019 included!).

I assume this something I would need to have a dealer or Mini Indy/specialist shop do, right?

I highly doubt you’d find a MINI dealer willing to make this coding change, but there are a number of folks who will do coding remotely for a nominal fee. Or, you can learn to do it yourself (it’s not terribly difficult, but it’s also not for the feint of heart). Check out the long thread on this site about retrofitting the digital cluster. There you’ll likely find someone who can assist with the coding after you’ve swapped with a new analog cluster.

Appreciate the info and advice!
