Hi all,

I have an 2014 F56 Cooper base. I have this issue where when I start the car, it would sometimes start (tach goes to ready), then immediately drop (as if the car lost power), then attempt to start it self back up. After the car starts itself back up for the second time, the car would start normally and drive normally. this only happens occasionally. The car only has 27,000 miles on it as well so very rarely driven. Could it need a battery replacement? any ideas would help. thanks in advance

 

I would test your battery to make sure. I had an issue similar to this and it was linked to the fuel tank breather valve, which was easy to replace. Does it happen on cold starts? Warm? After fueling?

 

Thanks for the reply. This actually happened on all occasions so cant really narrow it down from there
