I just bought my first Mini. It is an absolute blast to drive! I have already been modding the heck out of it. I replaced the entire suspension and bushings with the Energy Suspension kit. AEM cold air intake was installed to make the scoop functional, K04 hybrid turbo upgrade with Turbosmart dual port BOV, Forge turbo blanket, Ebay catless downpipe and 2.5" straight pipe exhaust with 12" Amazon resonator(sounds nasty with no pops). I also replaced all intercooler pipes and have the FMIC installed. I am now at a point where I may want to throw a fresh motor and clutch in it during the winter.
Has anybody had any dealings with SneadSpeed? I am eyeing their mild street/strip motor. It is around 8k with no core charge, ready to drop in! Comes with a cammed head as well,, which will get ported before dropping in.. I refuse to buy their "race" head for 4k lol. They are the only performance engine builder I could find for the Mini so can anyone vouch for them or know of any other options in N. America?

 

Here it is! This video was taken a few weeks ago before I swapped the K&N kit for the AEM and with the stock turbo.. I just replaced both the other day so I'll upload a new video soon.. Going to replace the rims and tires in a few weeks. Any recommendations?

 

sounds mean! You may want to post on the R55 pages for more contribution. We can just admire from here gotta get rid of the dealer stickers, IMO. Other than that it looks all business

 

Thanks! I am new here so I saw the R55/R56 and posted. I really just need to know if anybody has bought a motor from SneedSpeed. My Mini has 150k on it. Compression looks ok still as I checked it when I bought the NGK Iridium plugs(one step colder) but I would love to totally restore it to better than off the showroom floor looks/performance. A fresh motor, rims and paint are really all I have left

 

My tuner is getting my Powergate module ready with a base map to break the motor in and get it to him. German Autowerks now has all the engine goodies and will be putting it all back together then it is off to Turn 5 Fabrication in Val Alstyne, TX to get the custom downpipe made
