F55/F56 Brake Noise
Brake Noise
Hi all.
I recently replaced all 4 pads on my car at 60K miles to be exact.
I called a mobile tech, he came to my house, checked the rotors and we OK so we just replaced the 4 pads. Car drove fine after that for maybe 1K miles but now for some reason when I am lets say at a stop light fully stopped and I release the brake pad slowly and re press it real quick it makes noises. The noise it makes is the same noise of when the pads are wet right after raining, that is basically the noise.
Tomorrow I am going to use some brake clean spray and spray it to see if that fix the issue but I was just wondering what your opinions are on this issue?
Thank you all!

My brakes have creaked quite a bit since my entire car was brand new. They creak right when I let off the brake peddle. It's like the entire spindle, caliper and rotor creaks. I figured it was part of having such large (JCW) brakes on a lightweight car. I think it's a neat sound.
Did your tech use factory pads or another brand? Assume the tech used lube/paste where he should have. Mini assumes the brake pads have beveled edges.
While the rotors are still thick enough and didn't need replacement, they are often turned on a lathe so the surfaces are once again flat. Over time, it's not unusual for pad wear to cause low undulations/almost grooves on the faces of the rotors, so it's not truly flat, like new. I'm guessing your rotors have that wear, and maybe it took the 1K miles for the pads to adapt to the rotor surfaces.
