Mini part fell out of engine bay! Help!

Mini part fell out of engine bay! Help!

Can someone help name this mini part for me pleas?



F56 series.

That's on the hot-climate package mini's. And it's part of the heat dissipation sheaths covering your exhaust DP. these are secured by too few bolts. Bolt them back in and you're good to go.

How the heck did it "fall" out? Did you recently have a downpipe installed?

Good news is that it's not a critical part to keep your car running. If it was my car though, I'd wonder what else the previous owner did up there. It doesn't fall out by its own. Somebody loosened the bolts and didn't either replace them or didn't tighten them back up. I see that one of the brackets was ripped off the shield. That's gonna have to be replaced.

Apparently nothing. Will look again this week once I get it up on the hoist!

Maybe the previous owner had a downpipe in there, then pulled it to turn the car in? I too would be worried about what else is going on up in there...
