F56 Tuning Options?

Anyone have any input on Stage 2 tune resources for an MCS F56? Including remote tuning, and support afterwards. I have a tune, but recently I had some questions because I felt like it wasn't done correctly, and I'm not getting any responses. Now I have a hard time trusting what I got.

Hey, I recognize your car from Reddit :P

As far as tuning options go, I can definitely recommend RPMPower through Mario Palza (mariopalza@gmail.com) in California. Extremely customizable and remote tuning is possible. I have also seen some decent things coming from DervTech in England as well.

Cool! I already have a stage 2 but, I'm good now. I just looked a up a local dyno place and they're gonna tune it. I'll be able to have some actual numbers, and it's almost half the cost of the tune I have right now. I feel like kicking myself for not going that route to begin with.

Of course there's always the warrantied option from Dinan. I went that way, and no regrets. 256 whp, 286 wtq on a Mustang Dyno.

I did have a code a few months after the installation, and my dealership had a replacement from Dinan in 24 hours. No troubles since, and it's been well over 20k miles.

Cheers,

Charlie

minideucecoop, If you ever get a chance I'd love to hear your comments, or hints, as to what you didn't like about the original tune. Power? Noise? Drivability? Even if it's just a "gut feeling"

Since you're not naming the original tuner, no one would take offense. A brief write up after you go to the local tuner would be awesome.

I got the tune remotely. The customer service seemed good. At first there was a slight mix up getting my tune. I got the the oem car file back instead of the tuned file. No biggie, I contacted the tuner and got the tune installed. Coming from an NM module, I could tell the tune was, "beefier," to choose a word, and had a decent butt dyno feel. It popped. It made some noise. I was happy. Even got a call a week later to make sure everything was running smooth. I liked that. After a while I got an update for more pops. I noticed the file name had 91 in it. From the original phone calls, I specifically had mentioned 93 octane was used in my state. The original conversation even had a few minutes of being able to use 93 as opposed to more restrictive states.

I take a look back at the original file and it also says 91 in the name. I ask the tuner, does the 91 in the name mean it's tuned for 91 octane? The reply was, "Everything stayed the same." That's not a yes or no. Next day I ask directly, is my tune set for 93 octane. No answer. Next day after that, I contact them something to see if I'm just being ignored. They're pushing car parts on me for a reply with no mention of my original unanswered question. It's supposed to be a stage 2 tune. Is it?

A stage 1 to stage 1+ can go to 93 octane and that alone can add hp. I'm taking it to a local tuner. I'm pulling dyno numbers for the current tune. It'll get tuned, Dyno again, and then I'm posting the numbers side by side. I'll probably throw in the price of what I paid for the original tune, and let the forum decide if I got screwed over.
