DDC replacement (maintenance)

We have a 2016 F56 with DDC. It has 72k miles on it, and it drives like the dampers need attention. Sport mode is squishier than normal used to be, and normal feels terrible.

we like the dynamic option. The car is mostly a daily driver through a horrendous urban environment (Boston) with a spirited road-tripping alter ego on the weekend. It never sees the track.

it is difficult to tell what the options are for routine maintenance of the dampers while maintaining the OEM dynamic control. Are there aftermarket options that are still dynamic? How do I figure out what OEM parts are correct? (This will be self-wrenched. There is no chance the dealer is doing the work).

Has anybody here been through this already who can help me find parts?

If you want to replace your OEM DDC shocks & struts with OEM parts look at this online website minipartsdirect.com There prices are about 40% off dealer prices. This is actually Flow Mini of Raleigh NC's online store. I purchased the parts I needed to convert my DDC Mini to Koni Special Active Shocks & Struts. Also the MiniPartsDirect.com website has good exploded view diagrams to help you find the correct part numbers for the parts you need for your Mini.

You're looking at around $1200 for the four corners parts only.
Go to realoem.com for numbers and shop
Mini parts direct doesn't sell them.

https://parts.miniofkennesaw.com always discounts

How do you find the koni compared to the DDC? Specifically compared to the comfort setting, since I’m sure I can get way better performance than the sport mode if I don’t mind rattling bones on potholes....

Ivan256, the Koni SAS shocks & struts are a night & day improvement in comfort over the DDC shocks & struts that came on my 2019 Mini S that had only 5400 miles on it when I had the Koni SAS's installed. Read this thread about my install.https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...nd-struts.html .If you think of ride quality as a sign-wave the DDC shocks & struts in the comfort mode have sharp peaks & valleys which produce what I feel is a harsh ride. The Koni SAS shocks & struts round off the peaks & valleys so you get a much more comfortable ride. The ride quality still feels like sport shocks but with a much more comfortable ride. Handling performance wise the Koni SAS shocks & struts are similar to Koni Yellow Sport Adjustable Shocks & Struts that were set on the full soft that I had on a BMW Z3 3.0 several years ago. Also I think you should do a search on NAM for Koni Special Active Shocks & Struts and read all of the threads that you can find. This will help you decide if the Koni Special Active Shocks & Struts are the right choice for your Mini.

Edit: The Koni Special Active Shocks & Struts are still on special pricing at https://www.tirerack.com/suspension/...dClar=Cooper+S the shocks are the bottom of the listing.
