bike rack options?

I am about to purchase a 2017 F55 S that is fully loaded.... unfortunately, it doesn't have roof rails or the bike prep. As I have found, neither of those options are common. I want to be able to add a bike rack to the back. My wife has an e-bike to keep up, which means that I need one that can hold one bike that is pretty heavy and my bike is less then half the weight.

I realize that this means either adding a hitch or adding a one of the several options to get the left tow hitch threaded. I think I am leaning towards adding a hitch as it opens more options and I can get a bike rack that can hold the weight of of an ebike (as I don't think the mini one can handle that much weight).

Does any one have any experience with a yakima, Thule or some other hitch rack?

If you get a hitch rack, go with Kuat. I had one and loved it.

If you decide to NOT go with a hitch rack and go roof mounted, look at SeaSucker. I currently use them on my F56 MCS.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out Kuat racks. I think I am not likely to put my wife's bike on the roof. Since it weighs about 50lbs, it is a little too heave to get up and off.

If I am going alone, I am more likely to take the wheels off my road bike and put it inside the back. What do other people use to put down on the folded down seats so the car doesn't get messy?

1up USA makes fantastic hitch racks.. that's what I use. A little pricey, but the quality and ease if use is so worth it for me.

It looks like a hitch is the best option for me, considering the weight of my wife's bike. I'll check out 1up USA too.
