Outside Temperature Sensor...How does it look plugged in?

Anyone know how the temperature sensor is suppose to look in place on the driver side bumper cover grill opening? My sensor is just laying there loose on my '15 JCW. Funny, but I don't recall noticing it laying there loose before. It's wired, but shouldn't it plug into the rubber piece in the grill? Photo?

Thanks for any info.

Temperature Sensor

I noticed mine was just laying on the bumper also when I converted from chrome to black surround. I put it back into the holder. The holder has what I'll call a saddle with two prongs that hold the sensor in its place. I think if you've removed the bumper cover it comes out of the holder. You're not the first to discover it............................mini vlog also had it happen to him when he removed the bumper cover. You can see it dangling in his video. Sorry but I never took pictures, was over a 100 when I did my grill surround, and I was the one holding the bumper surround . My son put it back in the holder.

I'm getting closer but still in the dark. My sensor looks like that but there is nowhere visable for it to go on the bottom like in your first pic. Plus, the wires don't look at all long enough to stretch across the opening. My bumper has never been removed or even touched/modified in any way. It would appear that your 2nd pic is where it would go based on my seeing and feeling a slit in the rubber side piece where it might pop into place. It's not at all obvious however.
