F56 ignition failure

Fellow Miniacs, hoping to get some feedback on my current situation. I’m posting this on any and all mini pages in search of some guidance.

I've got a 2015 F56 JCW with just 32k miles on the clock. In the past month, my car has struggled to start. Immediately putting the blame on the battery, I purchased a new OEM replacement and installed. Shortly after installing I noticed the issue was still present. I toggle the start/stop as I would normally but no crank to the engine. I get the following fault/ error on my screen (see photo attached). Typically, after a few tries the engine cranks over. Tonight my luck ran out and my car no longer starts. Had to hire a hauler to tow it home 😔. With no factory warranty left I’d like to try and diagnose the problem and potentially repair myself. I want to assume it’s the starter as stated but considering my history with mini’s it’s never what it seems. If it’s a matter of a replacement part, I’m pretty handy and typically perform all the work myself, I’d rather save on the labor. Anyone else experience this on their F56, if so, what was the cause? Please help 💔😢

OBD codes would be a first diagnostic step. In the long run throwing parts at the car will cost more than a quality Indy mechanic doing it right.
