Some white smoke coming from under the hood/bonet(DELETE)

Was driving home in the evening/dark and stopped my car to check my mail box. When I came out of the car, saw how headlight illuminated the nose of the car which showed some white smoke/vapor coming out of under the hood. I haven't seen it during the day and don't recall seeing it at night before, as I do open my mail box later in the evening. There are no lights on the dash, my car's oil and simple inspection was done during maintenance in March by MINI dealership. It is dark outside, so I didn't open the hood, but my first guess is that it is a coolant vapor, excess coolant is coming out of the reservoir or some condensing moisture(just don't know from where). There is no rain outside, the weather is about 18 degree Celsius. I tried smelling it and it wasn't as strong as coolant smell, but possibly 20% of it could point to antifreeze smell.

Any more ideas?

The car has less than 21K on it and it is 2016 Mini cooper s. No modifications were done.

Reviving old thread as I now have these symptoms. Did you ever find out what the cause was?

Hey, I sold/traded-in the car back in the summer of 2020. It happened only once and never appeared again. I don't know if coolant reservoir/expansion tank has an opening to vent into the air OR just a simple condensation.

I remember people talking about steam from a rain storm.
