Jacking Point Blocks

Tell me about the jacking point blocks. Are these blocks needed if using a floor jack? Would the jack stands also go there? Are they needed if the car is being jacked up at the mechanics with a 2 or 4 post lift? Do I leave them on the car all the time or only when I have to lift the car?

Thanks

Yes they are useful for floor jacking. Also required if you need to use the provided jack as it is designed to fit in the slot. Stands can indeed go there if you jack it up using a wood block elsewhere, like the sill or subframe, then you can get access to put in two stands at the same time on each side. Yes they are used by grage/shop as jack points. Leave them on in my case.

Leave them on. They're there for a reason.

Yes use the jack points as they are designed for the car to be lifted at those points.

We do have this new Powerflex jack pad to make it easier for the Gen 1 and Gen 2 cars

I keep a spare set of 4 thick rubber pads (that are used on my 2 post lift) for when I go to my mechanic. They help protect the jacking points and add a little extra room between the rockers and the lift arms! Cheap insurance!

Great information everyone. Do I need the floor jack adapter for the blocks?

No, you don't need one. Some people use them anyway to provide a little extra rigidity when lifting the car. I got this one
