Mini Jacking Point

Some time recently I came across a replacement part for the jacking point made I believe of machined aluminium but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone by chance know who made or sells this piece?

Interesting idea, as I was just jacking up my MINI today to rotate the tires. I usually don't use the jack spacer with my floor jack, though. I put the floor jack just to one side of the spacer (toward the center.) I put the "circle" of the jack right on the plastic about 10 inches away from the spacer. Then I jack it up, and put the jackstand under the spacer. I have generic Harbor Freight jack stands, and the spacer fits really nicely into the stand.

When I jack up the whole side of the car, I use a 2x4 of about 30 inches in length.

When it's just the fronts, I put the jack circle right on the plastic underbody. It's left a little mark, but nothing to worry about.

I feel like a dill as I had looked through Outmotoring for this item and missed it. Thanks.

I have two of these and they work great. I have also found that a hockey puck works almost as well, and they can generally be found for about $2 each + or - at an ice arena or sporting goods store.

ice hockey pucks might be a bit rare in Australia or a cheaper version of the Mini produce here :- http://burgertuning.com/BMW_jack_pad_adapter.html
