Lane Departure Warning

Interesting that the Driver Assist camera tech has settings for it and the tach even has indicator lights for it but it doesn't seem available anywhere as an option, I wonder if it's coming?

I think Mini driver assist is a joke. I've not seen it as useful at all and a waste of money.

What ever happened to paying attention to what your are doing and maintaining control of your vehicle? Delegating responsibility to an electronic devise doesn't work if someone gets hurt.

Agreed. Not to diminish the usefulness of those assist, I find that the more I drive, the more distracted drivers I see. Old Farts (of which I count myself), texting and looking and cell phones while driving.

Hate to admit it, but autonomous vehicles may actually be a necessity as distracted trends continue.

All the automated gizmo's for driving are leading to the end of driving your own car. Probably going to take some time but eventually most people won't be driving.

I don't have any of those things yet, cruise control is as advanced as it gets in my car and I've yet to turn it on. Only time I ever use cruise control in the past was when I had some back spasms and moving my leg around was better than having it on the pedal.

If the distracted driver has a system in place that alerts him/her to not smash into me, that's a good thing. All for it. When I need it in my car, probably time for me to hang up on driving myself.

I was trained in anti-submarine warfare fire control. The whole FC problem is distance, rate, time along with relative bearing drift and closing or opening range rate to the target. Every minute I'm on the road that is how I see every other vehicle so I'm already identifying options before necessity strikes. I realize that whole thing is an anomaly among the general driving public but it sure makes me impatient with other drivers suffering from rectal enfilade.
