DRLs turn off at night

Hi I have the base mini, no fogs, and no led. Visibility is pretty bad and I would like the DRLs to stay on while driving at night. They only turn on during the day when headlights are off. But when headlights are on, DRL turns off. How can I set that to keep it on?

Aren't the DRL's for the new minis the actual headlights themselves? Or am I missing something...

while that is true, this is a old concept.. MOST cars nowadays stay on as long as the cars on.

only if you have the projector headlamps, but even still, they have a another DRL on their fog.
I have the standard halogens where the DRLs are on the bottom with the bumper.

I know what you mean, my first Mini had halogens and they were so poor. My later Countryman had HID and there is no way I would ever go back to halogen in any car. There must be a way to wire or program the DLRs so they stay on all the time even with the headlights.

I saw a base cooper yesterday and I have to say the DLRs will not make much of difference, they're too dim. I see in another post you're looking at installing real fog lights. That's probably the best route. Good luck!
