Scheduling my first maintenance with the Mini.

Hey everyone, it's about that time to take advantage of the free maintenance on this car. Do Mini dealerships ever let you come and chat with the technicians/watch them do the work? Obviously, I want to do this for two reasons

1) To learn, since this is my first european car and everything is different
2) To watch, because it's weird for other people to work on my car

Thanks in advance!

I find MINI dealers isolate the service area more than others.
My dealer actually have automatic doors that stay closed, and you can’t even peek.

Passing along some friendly advice. I brought my 2015 for the final free service and find that I missed the cut off by 16 days. I don't put many miles on my car so each service is an annual.

Swore I bough my car in July, was actually June 9. I was charged $260 for the standard maintenance and a brake fluid service instead of $0. I was pissed, but realized that it was my mistake and I'm learning from it. I only got 2 of the 3 free services.

I have a 2017 BMW which I bought Dec 15 2016. You can bet your ***, I will be bring it in each year prior to that date regardless of what the car is reporting for the next service.

Mark your calendar w/ your date of purchase and ensure you have your car in for the final free service before the 3 year date hits.

MINI of Portland has a large picture window into the service area. It's a big service department so you might get lucky and see your car being worked on or not.

I find it beyond weird that some of us get so worked up about seeing the car worked on but if a relative is being operated on in the hospital you are ok being in an other room without the slightest bit of oversight.

Well, can't say I'm really being worked up...but I'm just curious.
