Hi all - this may or may not be in the right area to post, but this seems to be the thread with the most activity, so thought I would ask.

I used to have a Chili Red / White top with UJ Sunroof decal - looked great.

I now have a Blazing Red / White Top and I'm debating is the UJ sunroof decal will go as well or not? I do like having the decal on top, protects the glass and shades the interior a bit - just not sure if the color will still go as well since Blazing Red is quite a bit darker than the chili red. I've searched but can't seem to find any photos.

Thoughts?

 

Blazing Red looks a bit darker, but hugely so IMO. With the Windows separating the top from the car body, I'd think the UJ decal would look fine. Based on the two images below, blazing red seems to be a closer match to the UJ red, than the Chili red. Of course, based on one's color perception, each of us sees things a bit differently.

 

If you are having a vinyl shop do the work, they should mock one up on the computer for you.

 

You shouldn't judge from pics online, the color just isn't accurate at all.

If a shop is doing it, you could bring the car and ask them to show you the best match. Maybe they could order something even closer. If you're using the OEM decal- hmmm, dunno if a dealer would keep that stocked so you could look at one next to your car... maybe they'd be nice enough to take it back if you didn't like it upon inspection in person.
