Ha! Cool!

I used to do that with a sailboat on my 1964 Riley Elf!

You get funny looks for sure

How are you attaching the bow & stern hold down lines? Looks like you have something fixed horizontally to the front & rear bumpers.

In the rear I used the MINI tow hook that came with the car. Worked perfectly.

In front I used a bolt I bought locally that only partially screwed into the tow hook hole. It unscrewed once and came loose. I couldn't find a bolt that matched the screw pattern and didn't want to pay $30 for a MINI bolt. I did find a MINI bolt on Amazon for $10 that I have on order.

Thank you, CT. I had completely forgotten about the tow hook anchor points. Good idea!

What base rack system are you using? I need to do the same thing on mine.

Yakima Q-towers, Q-128 clips, 48" round bar.

The Q-towers and clips are being discontinued by Yakima and I couldn't find them at local dealers. (Yakima is going to a new set-up that isn't MINI naked roof compatible.) I did find them on Amazon. Bars are available everyplace.

I couldn't find any other solution for F56 naked roofs.

Just noticed you have a 2012 MINI. I'm in a 2014 Gen 3. My solution may not work on your car.
