2017 (F57) "Off-Cycle" Dealer Oil Change - MINI Maint. Sys. Reset?

So I just got my 2017 F57 and have put about 2K miles on it so far.
MINI Maint. Sys. sez, for now, that my 1st complimentary oil change should happen just under 10K miles. I realize this may adjust based on driving habits, etc.

For various reasons which have been discussed, I feel I'd like to have a "mid-cycle", Dealer-performed, oil change at around 5K mi, which I'll gladly pay for.

Question: At that time, will the dealer reset the MINI Maint. System such that it will only then show the next oil change at around 15K mi?

If that's the case, and assuming I continue to pay for "mid-cycle" oil changes, would that not mean I'll never qualify for any complimentary ones, since the MINI Maint. System will never get near its ~10K targets?

Thanks for any opinions.

Just dont reset it yourself and then when the read it, they will change it at the normal set time and you can do the in between, done that on all 3 of my MINIs when I had maintenance warranty left. Fo the oil change kits and DIY on the 2.0L see here:

MINI updated the oil size and bottle/ brand so our kits were updated.

I got my oil changed at 1k and then just recently at 5K. I'll get my "free" Mini oil change at 10K. Call me old school but I think that 10k is way too long for one oil change. I did it at 1K to get the break in oil out.

I asked that my oil cycle not get reset too

I got my oil changed at just over 1,200 miles, paid for it myself and they did not reset the maintaince reminder.
