F55/F56 F56 Coding Help
F56 Coding Help
Hi friends!
I am used to code R56 and BMW with NCSExpert, but never tried the softwares used on F series.....
So having searched and read a lot about it, I am confused because I don't know where to start... could you help me to get started?
1- I already ordered e-net cable.... so what is the latest software and database that you recommend? I am running Win XP
2- I will be programming an Oct 2015, F56.... I have read that some models are protected against coding... is there any risk of damaging the car?
3- My main goal is to change the language.... changing the VO will be enough or do I have to program module by module?
4- The car has Visual Boost with Mini Connected, but no navigation.... so adding navigation is a question of programming or the car needs any additional hardware?
Thank you so much for your help

Find the most recent psdzdata you can find (psdzdata=datens), but you don't need the full version unless you plan on completely reprogramming. For simple coding, lite is fine. 60.2 I believe is the latest version of the psdzdata.
Next, you'll need the coding software itself, ESYS. 3.27 is the latest, I believe. However, you need a patching software to run it as ESYS isn't fully usable for our purposes in a state by itself.
The third piece you'll need is Tokenmaster's ESYS Launcher Premium 2.0. This allows you use the ESYS software for coding and also enables coding on more recent psdzdata.
You can find everything you need here: www[dot]bmwesys[dot]com/guides

Any F-series MINI is codeable. There's always a risk of bricking your car as you will be altering the ECUs that basically run the car, but if you follow instructions and don't click on things you're not supposed to, the risk is the same as with NCSExpert. Worst case is you have to tow your MINI to the dealer for a reprogram.
3- My main goal is to change the language.... changing the VO will be enough or do I have to program module by module?
Not sure how to do that, sorry

You would need an all new headunit, iDrive controller, and antenna at minimum. It's possible, but it is NOT a plug in play thing. Lots of time and money involved - not worth it.
Thank you so much for your help

Thank you so much siriuszero, this was really what I needed to get started.... the majority of the threads asumes that we already know the basics and sometimes is very hard to find a starting point....
If anyone knows how to change language, that would be great.....
In NCSExpert you remove the origin language VO, add the new language VO, write the new VO settings to the modules and it is done.... I think it will be the same way with Esys, but it would be great having someone confirming that....
Thank you!
