F55/F56 How does water NOT get in side markers?
How does water NOT get in side markers?
I replaced the flat black plastic panel in my side markers (did NOT add scuttles) on my F56. I noticed it was pretty easy to lift the light assembly to get to the back of it and remove bulb assembly. Easy to put back in once the new insert was added. How does water not get in there? No "seal" around the light assembly where it hits the car body. All those wires in there going to the blinker electrics....makes me wonder if I should add some tape or something to the light assembly.
Right.....because no one that drives an F56 "tinkers" with the exterior looks of their car in any way. It's not like there are numerous businesses where consumers can buy parts and accessories for their new F56. Oh wait...that's not right.
I don't have an F56, but looking at the picture I don't see any problem.

The connector and lamp housing are both sealed against water. There are lots of similar wiring connectors in the engine bay that get wet but the contacts are sealed against water and dirt. The R53 version was essentially the same, just without all the attached scuttle plastic.
