i remove everything (not hard) except for the cable that goes through the firewall. i just tuck that away. and the OBDII plug, i tuck it away. no problems with the dealer as of yet.

that may be the burger official statement, but i'm running a BT OBDII adapter off my JB4 for over a year now and have yet to have a problem. officially, you shouldn't, but i'm running fine.

I never removed and never had problem. There is no reason to worry.

The ODBII cable is a bit of a pain to install on RHD car as the hole is tiny! The JB4 ODBII cable had to be cut to fit it through and re-joined as the small end of the connector would not fit through...

The latest version of the ODBII cable is now just a male end with a blank so it is not possible to connect other ODBII devices unlike the earlier cables... I assume Terry (BMS) decided it would be easier to do that rather than have people complaining ODBII connected devices or the JB4 not working correctly with other devices piggybacking off the ODBII connector..

That would make it easier to install if you plan on just running pump gas and did not want to fool with it. I currently have a Stage 1 on my 15 Cooper.

If you're not gonna use the OBD features by all means just get the Dinan or NM box. The Dinan even has built in Bluetooth and a lower price than NM.

The Dinan looks like the way to go. Only 2 connectors and a small controller. I don't think it was available when I bought the Burger Stage 1. I think The Burger Stage 1 has slightly higher dyno numbers though.
