HUD Question

The loaner I have has the HUD. It's kinda nice, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. One thing I don't like is the positioning of the displayed information. To have the speed and Nav in the center of the screen I have to lean over to my left. In my normal straight up seated position the speed is displayed on the right edge of the screen. Is there a way to adjust the display? If I owned the car vs it being a loaner I would definitely have it at the dealer for this problem, but maybe there's an adjustment I'm unaware of.

Wish I could help. I have the HUD and never use it. Actually don't like it. The one option I wish my car didn't have.

There are a couple of adjustments through the menus to help - the glass can be adjusted fore and aft to adjust the height of the info displayed - helpful if you are taller - I had to adjust this when I got the car. And there is another setting to adjust the rotation of info - in my case it looked like it wasn't level.

There is no way to adjust it from left to right. I do know that the speed is a bit to the right of center, and moves to the left and down a bit when the nav info is set on the right, or when you are cycling through the music options.

I fiddled with it a bit then it was perfect and haven't touched it again.

I don't really use it so much for the speed info, but use it every time I drive for nav arrows and to change music. I miss it when I drive other cars now.

I love my HUD, and I am kinda surprised people don't like it, anyway there is setting in the settings menu on the i-drive menu, in which you can change height, horizontal position, and slant

Love my HUD

Both my daughter and I have 2015 Mini's with HUD. Of all the options we ordered this is number 1 on the list. Actually it is HUD + Nav. The MPH, Radio, Phone calls, and Nav info is just awesome.

The Nav in the HUD is kinda cool, but I still prefer my Garmin over the Mini Nav. The HUD is okay, but if you've ever driven a Corvette where the display is actually projected onto the windshield you'd see what a half... hearted attempt the Mini unit is. On the Vette you actually look through the display instead of still having to look down at it. I guess if I weren't 6'4" it would be closer to my line of sight. That's just my opinion. I'm glad I got to try it out on my loaner F55, but unless they improve it a lot, I'll never order one.

Are you saying that you can't see the display straight-on? If so. ditch the polarized lenses.

It's that the current speed displayed on the HUD is displayed off center and while it's pretty annoying at first, you get used to it.

I love my HUD and while it wouldn't be at the top of my must have list for my next MINI, it's definitely on my preferred list.

ALright, it seems like I am the only one that doesn't like it. I will commit to one full week using it and see if it grows on me.

I think once you adjust the settings you will like it more. Its great when you have NAV and the sat/media settings will also show up in there. On a side note if you wear polarized sunglasses while driving you will not be able to read the HUD.

Happy Motoring!

See post #7. I'm glad I got to try it on my loaner car, because now I know I'd never spend the money on it. I'm sure I could find another option to throw the money at.
