New recall?

Took my '15 F56 today to have the shifter **** replaced under warranty (faded numbers) and the service advisor said there was something coming up about a recall that they were unaware - but there was no details yet.

Seemed odd. My production date came after all the other recalls, so it isn't something that was missed prior to delivery (07/14).

I'll keep you posted on the outcome if no one has heard of anything.

No, what they said is that they have a recall to check for metal shavings in the engine oil. They need to report findings to Corporate and if they do find it they need to replace the engine.

It's the crankshaft guide bearing.
There's a whole thread about it. If your f55/56 S was built between Jan. 14 - Feb. 15 then most likely you'll be going in.

Thanks - sort of annoyed by the whole thing as I was assured that all known recalls and service bulletins where handled since I only bought it a month ago brand new.

Thankfully my '15 was just was cleared once they replace the thrust bearing. No new motor. Wonder if it had anything to do with the low mileage (just out of break-in?)

For what it's worth, the TSB was issued only 3 weeks ago.

So far it appears that only owners of manual transmission cars have reported
a problem. Is this TSB restricted to manual transmissions only or have any
automatic transmission owners reported a problem?

I got a call from my dealer and they recall I am going in for is the DSM. My mini is a 2016 and I bought it a few weeks ago. I'm surprised they didn't say anything about this recall when they Called I will ask them though
