Clicking/grinding Noise when turning left

Hello everyone,

My car is 6 months old with 2,700 km. Recently I start hearing a clicking/grinding noise when I am trying to turn left at 0-15 km/h. Absolutely no noise when turning right though. My husband and I thought it's related to the cold weather that we are having lately (-5 to -10 degrees, feels like -15 degree ish), but since it's under warranty so I decided to go back to MINI dealership for a check up anyways. Just got my car back today, although the dealership said they have fixed the problem but I can still hear it. Just not loud (I am talking about if you turn on your radio with normal volume then you won't be able to hear it at all). Since my car will be cover for 3 years, I guess I will go back to the dealership whenever the noise comes back again lol. Anyways I just want to share the experience with you guys.

Result from MINI dealership:

"Cause: puma measure #58332673 -05"
"Correction: Heard noise coming from the front of the vehicle. Isolated noise to front end suspension. Searched puma and found measure #58332673, removed both front tires and retightened the screw connection between the swivel bearing and the control arm/wheel control joint as per measure."

Anyone else having the same problem?

While not exact, I think I'm having a very similar issue.

I have to do almost a full lock to the right when reversing out of my driveway in the morning and the steering wheel makes a sort of whirring / creaking noise. (only at near or full lock, and only at very slow speeds)
It's also only just started to happen on my 6 month old car so I suspect like you do that it's cold weather related.

I'm about 2K away from my 10K service so I'll bring it up during the service appointment rather than sooner. Will report back in a couple of weeks.

Yes do mention to your dealership! According to the rep, he said this is a very common problem for the BMW/MINI.

Thank you ECSTuning! Now I know which "part" they are referring to.

Unfortunately after two days of driving, the noise came back again. Called my dealership, and they told me to drop my car off again on Monday for couple of days this time. I will keep you guys posted!

If you have the car up and working on it anyway it would not hurt, as this is to fix a problem part anyway. I replace the bolts when i undo things. Also you will have nice new hardware.
