I know they don't actually add much hp if any and they make the car sound nicer but do they have any other benefits? Ik some say they increase throttle response but does it make a noticeable difference?

 

I would say that the difference is noticeable, but not earth shattering. It definitely sounds nicer.. There is a sort of exhaling breathy noise when you tap the throttle, overall sound is different at speed.

How is that a "cold air" intake if it's inside the engine compartment? I've always heard these mods actually hurt performance...just look cool!

 

I wondered about that too, although some intakes have a "box" around them. I put one on a Durango R/T; it was noisy and didn't really add any speed. I have heard that a combo of intake, exhaust and tune make a difference however..

 

When we tested intakes on the F56 no real gains were seen. That is why we did a low cost intake. That way you could get the extra air and noise without spending a bunch on fake HP.
