Gremlin Window in new R56

Starting today and about 15 days into ownership, when I went to close the driver's side window, I lifted the window control/lever briefly, as usual, and the window went up 3/4 of the way and then back down-as if it sensed an obstacle. It did this multiple times and then I raised the window one more time but I kept the window lever/button held up and did not let go. This seems to resolve it and it went up and down normally. However minutes later, the window wouldn't open at all. I drove to my MINI dealer and my Motoring Advisor, who sold me the car, came out to look and it worked normally. All was normal until I got home and again when I raised the window, it went up 3/4 and then back down. Raising it again, I held the button/lever in the up position and it corrected itself again. I hate intermittent issues!!! Someone is the parts department at the neighboring BMW showroom (I was looking for vinyl cleaner), said that it perhaps was re-initializing. Tonight it was fine. One of those quirky things but I love my car. I'll see if it continues to do it and then may bring it in.

Mine has done that once or twice on the passenger side. Not sure what it is, but hasn't been enough of a bother to take it in. Will see how it goes.

I was told by a MINI technician to reinitialize by opening the window and keep the lever/button pressed and hold it for 20 seconds after it has opened; then raise the window keeping the button/lever lifted and hold it for an additional 20 seconds. If that doesn't fix it there might be a software issue with the control module is what I was told but reading here and there, it is a very common little glitch

The initialization seemed to do the trick.
