been following this thread for a while.. excellent info in here!

I'll be adding an exhaust to my F55 and would love to find a dyno to get some numbers on paper ..

When its all said and done, I'll have the following performance items:
  • aFe dry filter
  • nm module
  • full stainless exhaust

Once i do the exhaust, it'll be time to find a dyno, put the module on high and put some 100 octane in it...

If you're FWD you're probably on the other side of the traction bell curve at that point so don't expect phenomenal increases. But passing power...

Maybe a TINY bit improvement in 0-60? LOL I'm not expecting m3 times or anything, but a 1/2 second would be nice haha

Thanks for the response - new to POWER modding so i'm trying to take this all in and learn!

(Trading my countryman for a mcs next week)

Oh, don't get me wrong, as long as you launch properly you should see improvements. But if you don't you'll be hitting traction control in at least the first 3 gears I would imagine.

I got a manic stage 2 R56 6spd auto and 5th gear passing power is enough to send you to jail. If I floor it, and hit that extra button on the firewall, the car downshifts to 4th gear which is unnecessary for 90% of street driving.

Just curious, why didn't you get the AWD countryman S?

Well, the Countryman was a last minute trade and i could not find any i liked in my area that were AWD

As for launching, looks like the manual i wanted is already gone :( - so I'll be getting auto this time - still a great transmission at least

Yah, that's too bad. Although if the hardtops came with AWD option they'd be smoking their bigger brothers and you can't have that ;-) Especially since the 2L is used all the way to the x30 series BMWs.

The new software programming in the 'sport' auto has gotten good reviews for its quick shifts, I'd opt for that one if possible. Not sure if the ratios are better for higher hp/tq with the auto, I'd guess yes, effectively turning the manual into a '5-speed'. BUT the auto maxes out at ~300tq from what i've read so tuners have to adhere to that. This thread is about stacking tunes so we'll have to see how long term reliability is with this configuration.

Going on 9 months with the JCW tune + NM module and 4 months with the Helix intercooler. Still smiling.

Good advice thank you, and sorry I was not trying to change the topic of this thread :-) back to stacking tunes!

MCT (Pedro),

Thank you for sharing so much valuable information with us!

Question (from a not auto expert): I was under the impression the JCW had some differences in cooling system and/or air intake among others to handle extra HP (and heat?) difference from his cousin Cooper S.

Having a Cooper S upgraded with JCW kit and then adding the NM module -- Doesn't that create greater burden on Cooper S engine configuration which is out of spec?

Sorry if it is obvious I do not know what I am talking about

The JCW has an additional little bitty radiator behind the grill on the left side. Same location as the fog light on an S. Not real sure what the specific use is for that unit. I do know that my car is running at the exact same temps now with the tune and NM module as it did bone stock. This is info taken from the OBD II port using a ScanGauge II. I've had the combo since January with no ill effects. Other than my face hurts from grinning so much...

It remains to be seen how necessary the "Amoek" additional water cooler is for a tuned street car. Has anyone looked into retrofitting a S model with the additional lines and radiator?

To do that you would also need the JCW bodywork. If I need to increase the cooling capacity of my S I'll look for an aftermarket aluminum radiator, like Mishimoto for example.

very true, and the corresponding increase in drag coefficient ;-) easily overcome by the gain in power

Vetsvette,

Good to know that the combination has been working for you for months now without any apparent stress on the car. I guess this would become a settled point as time passes by and no issues are encounter. I may get the NM module next spring to add to my JCW tune Kit Copper S -- So do not be surprise if I contact you in March to see how your juice-up car is doing

No problem. I plan to be around then, but you know how plans go sometimes. Look forward to hearing from you after the spring thaw.
