Back when I had a 2nd gen. MCS there was an interesting and useful thread here about little features or tricks that weren't mentioned in the sales brochures or owners manuals. I haven't seen such a thread for 3rd generation Minis.

For example, there's the air conditioned glove box and the "each fob its own door locks scheme" - maybe those aren't so secret but they took me a while to figure out. And there's something about resetting your own service reminder schedule (details needed).

Any others?

 

This is great! It's always funny to me about how many gadgets vehicles have, but how most people don't know about them for the length that they own the car.

When the sunroof is open & you tap the button to close it, it goes to back edge up. Instead, double tap the button it it closes completely.

If you have the 6 speed & using cruise control, you can shift up or down & cruise will remain engaged if you only use the clutch.

Here's one that took me a while to figure out... When watching videos on the XL, press the volume button on the center console for pause/play. Didn't see this one anywhere!

 

I apologize if this is actually documented, but pressing and holding the unlock button on your keyfob can open the windows and moonroof.

 

If you have Comfort Access, you can also hold down the the button on the door while locking to have them all close as well.

 

If you press and hold for a few seconds the toggle switch to change the color-ring color, instead of the ring staying on one color, it cycles through them all, with a few second pause between the colors. Super annoying, but fun to show to friends. :D

Hold you're volume button to go above set dial position, hold you're change station buttons to search channels and not preset ones
