Hey all,
I've racked my brain to come up with something I changed to cause this, and I can't think of anything. One day everything was working normally (I'd plug in my phone via USB, open the Spotify app and in a few seconds see the MINI logo), and then suddenly every time I launch the app with the phone connected, this is what I get (see attached photo). I was on iOS 8.2 when this started happening. I troubleshoot for about a week (uninstalled/reinstalled the app, updates to iOS 8.3) and nothing seems to make a difference. Today I nuked the phone, did a complete restore and set it up as new (not from a backup) and it's still not working. I tried my wife's phone (iPhone, 8.2) and it's doing the same thing for her phone. Could my MINI software have gotten messed up somehow? I haven't done anything to it for weeks before this happened. I can still play through bluetooth, but that was giving me trouble through songza and Spotify, too (the music would just stop for a few seconds, then start again). I think I might have solved the Bluetooth issue by resetting my phone, but the MINI Connected/Spotify issue is still hanging around. Any ideas?

I've heard other Spotify/Connected users have this same problem and it seems to be related to the latest Spotify update. The only thing you can do is hang tight until Spotify updates their app again and fixes whatever they broke with MINI Connected. Originally Posted by Emmons1983

A similar thing happened to the Amazon Music app at some point too.

Ah, that makes sense. I didn't think about the app itself being updated. I have all my apps set to automatically update in the background.Originally Posted by siriuszero

Neutral
Yeah, Spotify 3.0.0 broke BMW/MINI connection.
Here is the official issue link.
I got in on the 3.0.1 beta, and it works again. Still doesn't sound as good as other apps, though. Too much static in many of the songs.

Use it by Bluetooth sound quality is better and album covers work correctly but you will need to update your connect software first off the BMW site with a flash drive. My works great tried it this morning using iPhone 6 and it can run in the background on your phone.

First off, that doesn't make sense that Bluetooth quality is better than usb. I'm not saying you're wrong or it's not true, but if it's true it's because (once again) Spotify isn't working properly. Originally Posted by VYPUR

I used to use Spotify through Bluetooth, but I got used to the luxury of scrolling through my playlists on the mini display. Now when I play it through Bluetooth, it doesn't play right with the navigation audio. It used to lower the volume of Spotify while the directions were being spoken. I don't remember exactly what it does now, but not that. I quickly just turned on the radio.
As a side note (I don't think this has anything to do with the mini): I cannot get Songza to play on my phone. It plays on my iPad and my wife's iPhone (using the same account) so it's not my account. I restored my phone and set it up as new and it still won't stream. The app itself opens fine and I can select playlists and everything, but then it can't actually stream be music and I get an error message about the playlist not being available. This is crazy because it can't be anything physical in the phone preventing a single app from streaming music, but I've already wiped the software and started fresh!
