I just finished a trip from Lodi,Ca. to Fort Bragg, Ca. and back , 469 miles, a lot of wonderfull roads. 36.9 mpg. Not bad,especially using the manual mode for much of the time in the hilly, curvy sections.
And I finally really got to enjoy the manual mode on my '15 F56S. Its just incredible. I can downshift so late into the turns and not upset the car.
For the many of us that have given in to the "auto revelation", I have no regrets.

 

Good to hear. I've only heard great things about the auto transmissions. Can't wait to get hold of my F55s with the JCW flappy paddles.

 

I made a trip this past weekend and I averaged 40mpg mostly in MID and Sport, occasionally I would use Green to coast down mountains. I didn't sacrifice fun or performance at all. I'm very impressed with the efficiency of this engine and its performance.
